Chefs for Farmers 2026

Last weekend, my husband and I went to Chefs for Farmers, and wow, it was awesome. Don’t sleep on this one next year. Check out our mini-vlog of the day!

This is hands down the best time of year to be a Houstonian. We’re on constant watch for the first cool front - maybe next week? The anticipation each year feels like Christmas to me.

You guys, I've been looking forward to this newsletter for a while. One of my favorite parts of building Woo has been meeting people who are quietly doing really good work for our city, and today I get to introduce you to a few of them.

Rhett Edwards of Rhett Edwards Counseling & Coaching is joining us as a monthly partner. He'll be sharing real, doable ways to care for your mental health and the people you love. And Thomas and Nicole of Mellow Mile are the husband-and-wife team behind this week's Healthy Man's Guide. They're proof that feeling better usually comes down to a bunch of small, smart choices, not some extreme overhaul.

What's on your mind when it comes to your health right now? What resources do you wish you had? Would love to hear from you!

We are very excited to introduce our newest partner, Rhett Edwards of Rhett Edwards Counseling & Coaching. Once a month, Rhett will be sharing practical tips on managing stress and taking care of your mental health, and the people you love too. This month, we're kicking things off with a little intro to Rhett and the work he does.

Hi, I’m Rhett - and I’m here to make therapy feel less like therapy, more like a conversation.

I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor with a private practice in Northwest Houston. In my work, I use LENS Neurofeedback, a drug-free, non-invasive way to help the brain settle out of the stuck, over-activated patterns that drive anxiety, poor sleep, and trouble focusing. I believe a regulated nervous system is foundational to reaching your mental health goals faster. There is nothing I enjoy more than helping clients find real relief from the symptoms weighing them down.

Outside of the office, I’m an Ohio transplant who’s called Houston home for more than a decade. My wife and I love raising our family in a city with an incredible holistic scene - especially dining at bellagreen, Flower Child, and Sixty Vines for date nights.

Ready to try LENS? Through October 31, Rhett is offering Woo readers $30 off a LENS Neurofeedback session. Mention WooLENS26 when you book an appointment.

Connection and Natural Fibers: The Healthy Man’s Guide to Living in Houston

Thanks to our friends at Mellow Mile, we're sharing some awesome ways for Houston men to prioritize their health. The guide is chock-full of ideas from Mellow Mile co-founder Thomas: his morning routine, the Memorial Park crew he runs with every Thursday, his go-to clean-eating spots (hello, 100% beef hot dogs at Moontower), and why he ditched synthetic workout gear for natural fibers. Plus, Woo readers get 25% off Mellow Mile with code WOO25.
