We’re less than two weeks out from Halloween, and our crew is already buzzing—costumes half-finished, neighborhood plans coming together, and plenty of talk about who’s handing out the “good stuff.” For us, it’s all about creating a fun night with friends and family without the next-day sugar crash.
Over the years, we’ve learned how to keep the magic (and the candy!) while still feeling good the morning after. This little guide rounds up our favorite clean candy swaps, non-candy handouts, and a few easy tips to help your family enjoy the night—without the crash. Think of it as your cheat sheet for a healthier, happier Halloween.

They didn’t get me this time!
I’ve been reading labels for awhile now, and still — I get fooled sometimes by clever marketing or that shiny “organic” stamp. Just last month at Costco, I grabbed a giant bag of organic pita chips only to realize later they were made with a handful of seed oils. And you know what? We ate them anyway. Because it happens — and we’d already paid for them! Living cleaner has been such a positive shift for our family, but giving myself grace over the occasional miss makes it sustainable. After all, I’m the one doing most of the food shopping, and stressing over every detail just isn’t worth it.
This week I was on my A-game and steered clear of H-E-B’s pretty packaging—turns out that “healthy” almond milk was loaded with extras I didn’t need. Instead, I grabbed Califia Farms—just water, organic almonds, and sea salt. The end.
I used it in my favorite chia seed pudding and was so impressed—it’s the smoothest, best-tasting almond milk I’ve tried yet. Highly recommend!

Anti-inflammatory work buddy.
Almond Milk Vanilla Chia Seed Pudding
2 cups unsweetened almond milk
½ cup chia seeds
2-3 tbsp honey
1 ½ tsp vanilla extract
Pinch of salt
Whisk together all ingredients in a bowl until well combined. Let sit for 5 minutes, then whisk again to prevent clumping. Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours (I let it sit overnight). I put blueberries, strawberries, and granola on mine - other options could be banana, chopped buts, coconut flakes, or cinnamon. Enjoy!
