Wayne Gosbee worked in the heart of the Texas Medical Center for over 20 years, serving as the Liver Outreach Coordinator for a major hospital. During that time, he screened thousands of Houstonians for viral hepatitis—often at community events and health fairs—but he noticed a painful pattern. Most of the people who tested positive were uninsured, underinsured, or paying out of pocket, and the lab tests they needed to even qualify for free Hepatitis C treatment could cost over $2,000.

In July 2015, Wayne left his position and founded Link2Labs—a company built to bridge that very gap. His goal was simple yet bold: make high-quality, affordable lab testing accessible to everyone, regardless of insurance status.
“Our cost for those same labs was a fraction of what they were being charged,” Wayne recalls. “I realized I wasn’t truly helping the people we were screening. That’s when I knew something had to change.”
Now known as the “Lab Disruptor”, Wayne and Link2Labs provide over 1,000 common lab tests at affordable rates. “We have access to over 14,000 lab tests. If you don’t see the lab you’re looking for on our website, you can email us. We can check to see if we can obtain it and if there are any discounts available.”
Whether you’re uninsured, paying out of pocket, or want control over your health data, Link2Labs provides a simple, transparent, and affordable way to start.

What is Link2Labs and How Does it Work
Link2Labs is a Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) lab company, part of a growing movement in healthcare that’s reshaping how people access testing. While DTC lab companies have been around for about 15 years, the demand for affordable, transparent options continues to rise.
Unlike traditional labs, Link2Labs does not take insurance—allowing for clear, upfront pricing without the surprise bills. The company provides medical oversight, meaning that if a result comes back critical, a licensed provider or staff member will contact the patient to ensure appropriate follow-up. However, Link2Labs does not interpret results, diagnose conditions, or offer treatment—its purpose is to make testing accessible and data-driven care possible.
Across the country, more providers and clinics are also turning away from traditional insurance billing, frustrated by opaque pricing, low reimbursements, and limited transparency. At the same time, individuals are beginning to shop online for laboratory services and other procedures—embracing a more consumer-centered model of care.
Functional Health Lab Testing
Wayne believes that the lab testing market is going to grow exponentially for both functional and holistic medicine. “Many individuals are now realizing what DTC lab companies are all about and that they don’t need a physician or insurance to order.”
It’s a shift from the traditional model—where labs were only ordered through doctors or hospitals—to one that puts individuals in control. “People are starting to recognize that they have choices,” Wayne explains. “For those who are uninsured, underinsured, or paying high deductibles, it’s natural to look for more affordable, transparent options—and that’s exactly what we provide.”
The Savings
For many of the most common lab tests—like a CBC, CMP, or Lipid Panel—individuals can save 50–80% compared to traditional pricing. Some tests even reach savings of up to 90%, offering an incredible value for the same high-quality results from reputable national laboratories.
Wayne created Link2Labs with a clear purpose—to make functional and diagnostic testing affordable, transparent, and accessible to everyone. His mission is rooted in the belief that no one should face barriers or hidden costs when it comes to understanding their own health. By putting trusted lab testing directly into the hands of individuals, he’s helping Houstonians take control of their well-being—one test at a time.
Wayne’s Wellness Hacks

What’s one daily health habit or mindset that keeps you grounded?
W: Who I do this for and why - which is the uninsured, underinsured, self-pay, and high deductible. Also, is what I am doing pleasing to God and what He has called me to do in my life?
The university I attended has a Latin phrase, “Quaecumque sunt vera,” meaning “Whatsoever things are true,” which encourages everyone to focus our minds on things that are true, honorable, just, pure, lovely, commendable, and praiseworthy.
How do you personally use lab data or testing to guide your own health?
W: Every year I have my annual physical so I can track my values. Also, over the past three years, I have been in a clinical trial and have seen my labs go from pretty bad to now acceptable.
I believe everyone should have a record of their yearly labs and get the basic labs done (CBC, CMP, Lipid Panel, A1c, TSH, UA, etc.) This is a Well Panel on our website. If you go to a national lab company website, it will be almost $1,000 and we can do it all for $125.
When you’re not working, where can we find you around Houston — coffee spot, restaurant, or wellness favorite?
W: As an entrepreneur operating in 39 states, I don’t get much free time, but it is essential to carve out time. I live in Pearland, and enjoy a nice 2-mile jog in the mornings or go for a walk or exercising with my wife in the evening. Our new sport this year has been pickleball! I can also be seen on the golf course, possibly in the woods or searching the water for my ball!
