A dreamy, very early pre-Halloween Friendsgiving with our friends.
A recently published Harvard study revealed something both surprising and deeply human: the strongest predictor of long-term health and happiness isn’t diet or exercise, wealth, or even genetics—it’s the quality of our relationships.
As we move into the holiday season, that truth might feel comforting for some and tender for others. Connection can be complicated. But there’s so much hope in knowing that small acts of kindness, shared meals, and genuine gratitude toward one another have real power to shape our well-being.
This week’s Woo Guide is all about a cleaner, more intentional Thanksgiving—filled with real food, local finds, and a little less stress. From sourcing wholesome ingredients to making space for connection, it’s about slowing down and enjoying what (and who) matters most.
An Intentional Thanksgiving
The Woo Thanksgiving Guide is your go-to for creating a cleaner, more intentional holiday—one that feels good long after the dishes are done. It spotlights Houston’s best local spots for fresh, organic ingredients, artisan breads, and better-for-you desserts. Beyond the menu, it’s a reminder to slow down, savor connection, and bring gratitude to every part of the celebration.

Primally Pure Products
Pros: I’m 100% sold — the scent is fresh without being overpowering, and it actually works. My husband’s been using the charcoal version and loves it too. It’s effective, clean, and one of those rare products that truly lives up to the hype. Highly recommend!
Cons: None!
Will I keep using it? Absolutely!
Pros: A big switch for me has been changing up my lip care—I’ve used the same brand for years and truly loved it, so this one was tough. But I’ve been pleasantly surprised by how much I like this new lip balm (I got the Creamsicle!). The texture, coverage, and feel are all so good that it’s officially making my “favorite things” gift list this Christmas.
Cons: The packaging could use a little work. It doesn’t see to want to stay in the tube but easily pops back in.
Will I keep using it? Yes!
Pros: I’m a little on the fence about this one. The bright orange color was surprising at first, and it does leave a slight tint when applied. That said, I love the dewy finish—it makes my makeup go on beautifully—and it seems to do a nice job calming redness, too.
Cons: The main reason I’m on the fence is the scent—it’s quite strong and has triggered some eye irritation for me. At night, it can also feel a bit overpowering when I’m trying to sleep.
Will I keep using it? I am going to keep trialing it - but I’m not sure it’ll make my long-term routine.
Pros: Rich and deeply moisturizing—perfect for night use or dry spots. Despite its thicker texture, makeup layers beautifully over it.
Cons: It has no added scent—which is great for sensitive skin—but the neutral, plain lotion smell takes a little getting used to.
Will I keep using it? Yes - I do like it and feel that my skin is benefitting from it.
