If you’re anything like me, staying consistent with healthy habits can feel like a moving target. Between work, family, and the endless to-do list, even the best intentions can get pushed to the side. I’ll have stretches where I’m on top of it—meal prepping, getting movement in, acting mostly nice to all of my family members—and then suddenly I blink and it’s all gone out the window.

But getting off track isn’t failure—it’s just part of being human. What matters most is noticing when it happens and starting again. Every reset, no matter how small, is a step back toward feeling like yourself. And that’s where I’m at this week - a reset after a very busy weekend where plenty of habits flew out the window, but we’re clawing our way back into the game one ice roller at a time (I seriously love ice rolling and look forward to it like my coffee each morning).

Affordable Lab Testing in Houston

I stumbled upon Link2Labs about a year ago when my family started seeing a functional medicine practitioner. Outside of the self-pay appointment, we were shocked at the price of the required lab testing. A friend of mine told me about Link2Labs and the bill went from $3,000 to $500.

I was immediately curious and wanted to learn more about Link2Labs and the work they do - take a look at this feature with their founder, Wayne (he’s local!). I’m even more excited about bringing Link2Labs to you after hearing his story and seeing the amazing work he has done for thousands of Houstonians and people all over the country.

I ran out of my face cleanser this week and have been wanting to try some of the Honest brand cleansers (EWG verified). In addition, I’m trying out some magnesium lotion, not for sleep, but for muscle cramping and recovery - something new to me here in my mid-30s. Will report back on both!

And one more find I’m excited about — an app called Buy’r. It lets you scan a product’s barcode to see not only its nutritional info, but also who owns the company and how they operate. Their mission is to highlight small, values-driven businesses — which, as you know, is right up my alley.

Update on Fygg Toothpaste: My report back is that the adults are not fans, but the kids love the Vanilla flavored kids tube! One of the things I love about it is the packaging is nice and doesn’t get all twisted up and gross like traditional toothpaste bottles - a random perk, but one other brands should follow!
