Last week I shared that our family has begun following the church calendar a bit more closely — not only Advent, but Christmastide as well.
Advent is a season of waiting. Christmastide is the celebration that light has come into the darkness. That posture of waiting has taken deeper root for me this year as I’ve continued learning more about my own health and becoming more intentional about creating space.
This Christmas season has still included the fun, the gatherings, and the joy — but we’ve done less overall. And because of that, it’s felt slower, lighter, and far less hurried.
Now, instead of rushing through Christmas Day and moving on, we’re turning our focus to celebration. During the twelve days of Christmastide, we’re finding small (and sometimes bigger) ways to enjoy and mark the season — without the pressure or obligations that often pile up before Christmas. I’ll share some of the fun along the way and be back with more features and guides to kick off the new year. Make sure to share us with your friends!
