August in Houston… a special time. Despite entering hurricane season and navigating the heat, we also get to take advantage of Houston Restaurant Weeks and Tax Free Weekend. For those of us with kiddos, it’s a great time to consider a couple of simple swaps to make back-to-school healthier than ever.
This past week, I put together a guide breaking down the difference between conventional and functional medicine. A couple of years ago, I had no idea what set them apart—and trying to make sense of all the new lingo felt overwhelming (honestly, some days it still does). With so much information out there, my goal was to make it simple, clear, and actually useful.
I’ve heard from a few of you this week about content you’d like to see - thanks for reaching out! We’re on the hunt for not just the best deals and opportunities but to know what your pain points are and how we can help. I hope you have a wonderful week full of movement, good food, and connecting with the people you love.

It’s that time of year again—Texas Tax-Free Weekend is here! From Friday through Sunday, you can shop clothing, shoes, and select accessories under $100 without paying sales tax. And while most people are thinking backpacks and back-to-school, we’re here for the healthier angle: saving on the goods that help you feel good.

🏠 In Our Homes | Low-Tox Back-to-School
Summer always seems to live in that strange tension of “how is it still going?” and “how is it already over?”—anyone else?
While my family is still deep in summer mode (we start after Labor Day), I’m knee-deep in back-to-school prep. This year, I’m making a few simple swaps to keep reducing our toxic load. The goal of this guide is to introduce you to one or two new products that might help you move a little closer to clean living—especially for our little people.
