We're baaack! I didn't intend to let some hackers take me down for a minute — but the unforeseen (and unwelcome) hiatus actually gave me a moment to pause and take inventory of where we're at and where we're headed.

And what better week to return than one where the Cyclospora outbreak has taken over the news cycle — with it, the usual wave of alarming headlines. This is exactly the kind of moment Woo is here for. Instead of getting stuck in fear, we want to hand you resources that are simple, accessible, and actually useful for navigating the storm. So I'm proud to share several guides (see below) that will help you find amazing, locally sourced food you can feel good about.

The past month has also been a fun one, and I'm recapping some of the adventures below, along with a few things I've read and listened to.

And not to be forgotten: I too have fallen down the Erling Haaland rabbit hole and have now conducted extensive research on soccer (ahem, football).

Travel Diary: Farm Life & Mountain Air

Wide open spaces

Sunrise at Lake Moraine

We've spent the last couple of weeks slowing down after a busy June full of camps and all the fun that comes with the end of the school year. It's been so nice to step away for a bit and be less plugged in.

I spent some time in the Oklahoma town where I grew up, and it was amazing to see several new co-ops and grocery stores stocked with locally sourced goods — and busy! I love seeing local farms get more shelf space to sell their products.

In Canada, we spent most of our time outside (duh), hiking a ton and squeezing in a Nordic spa day. It was lovely being somewhere it was just... easy to be healthy. Don't ask about my diet though — we're working on getting that back on track. :-)

A couple of things I've enjoyed reading and listening to lately:

  • Raising Girls and Boys, Episode 384: Mothers & Sons — highly recommend if you're raising a boy

  • What Grows in Weary Lands by Tish Harrison Warren — my favorite book I've read in a while, all about weariness and the practices that have sustained men and women through history

  • Culture Apothecary Interview with the founder of Active Skin Repair — this product now has a permanent spot in our medicine cabinet, such a cool product and story

*Make sure you check out our latest Instagram post with some tips on food safety. I personally like to soak my produce in warm water with baking soda for 10 minutes and then give them a good rinse and air dry.
